Meet the Producer
In the heart of the Macedonian land, in the impressive area of Pella, which used to be the capital of the Hellenistic Macedonia, we have been producing high quality products for the last 30 years, at the best possible prices. We revive forgotten tastes, we experiment with new ingredients and we enjoy your trust. This is a tradition of 40 years…
In 1969, Giorgos Martavaltzoglou, a refugee from Asia Minor, opens a bakery at the village he lives, Aravissos in Giannitsa, where he makes bread and traditional pies. Few years later, in 1974, the second generation creates a flour mill, which grinds top-quality flour, with a view to ensuring the quality of the raw materials used in the bakery.
In 1980, the modest mill grows into a cottage industry producing traditional grain-based products (hulled wheat, bulgur and wheat tarhana). In the years to come, consumers’ trust and a rapidly increasing demand led the company also expand to the production of pasta (hilopites, flour trahana, couscous etc.).
The third generation is gradually taking over at the helm of the family business, which in 2003 turns into a general partnership and modernises its premises, so that the production is carried out with modern technology, by specialised staff, while preserving traditional methods and recipes.
In 2010, a new factory is built at the 1st km of Aravissos-Giannitsa, according to the ISO 22000 specifications. Since 2012, our total production has been transferred to our brand-new facilities.
With more than 60 product codes and authentic Mediterranean recipes, we now travel to every corner of Greece, to reach everyone who want to transform even their simplest meal in a feast of taste.
