Fleur de Sel ‘Chion’ 175gr
€6.50
Salt foam is the salt that is created in a very small layer on the surface of the alopegia.
Fleur de Sel is the thin film of salt created as a surface crust on salt pans. It is harvested by hand at a specific time period before the annual salt crop is taken in.
Fleur de Sel has a particular texture and its grains are not uniform – some are fine and others coarse. Fleur de Sel is rich in magnesium and potassium.
Its unique flavor enhances barbecued food, meat, fish and salads. It is also used in patisserie making, where it ideally complements caramelisation and chocolate-containing dishes.
It is available in eco-friendly paper packaging (125gr) with a cork lid. A true jewel for your kitchen.

Meet the Producer
In 1935 Spyros Kanellopoulos established a small enterprise on Astiggos Street in the city of Patras, processing sea salt that underwent conventional washing, drying and grinding to be sold in 50-kg sacks. Our salt was packaged in rectangular cardboard boxes, replacing the bulk sale that was the norm at groceries until that time. During that era, it was named ‘CHION’, meaning ‘snow’ and symbolising the purity of the salt. In 1980 CHION moved to its present-day premises in the Patras Industrial Park, covering an area of 10,000 sq.m. and buildings with an area of 2,500 sq.m.; the enterprise began using fully innovative, state-of-the-art equipment to produce natural crystal sea salt products on par with those marketed by the largest European producers.
